How often are you suppost to change synthetic engine oil?

Is it every 3k miles like normal oil, or does synthetic have a longer life? How often are you suppost to change synthetic engine oil?You can generally get quite a bit more life out of synthetic - I know several people who will let it go 6K+, though they will change the filter about halfway through. How often are you suppost to change synthetic engine oil?Everyone will give a different opinion, but I wouldn't go further than 5000 highway miles, 4000 if stop-and-go.How often are you suppost to change synthetic engine oil?It has a longer life. I want to by a ford explorer but don't know how much miles it could take before buying one with too much miles on it?How much miles could a Ford Explorer take before you have to change the engine? It depends on the state the engine was in before you started driving it. Modern engines can normally take a good 200,000 before having major problems, however, you need to make sure that the oil level is sufficient and that you regularly service the vehicle to maintain the engine as best as possible. Faliure to do so will obviously decrease the ability of the engine to perform high mileage. How much miles could a Ford Explorer take before you have to change the engine?my dad had a 92 and the engine blew in 06 but it had like 211,000 miles on it it was a good carHow much miles could a Ford Explorer take before you have to change the engine? If you take care of the car, never. Can anyone tell me how to change the engine oil and primary for a 2005 HD Softail?

Or send me to link? The owner's manual does not say anything about it other than to have it done. I assume that this is because they want you to pay for thier service. Can anyone tell me how to change the engine oil and primary for a 2005 HD Softail? The HD has whats called a dry sump so little or no oil in crank case. the oil tank has a line running down from it with a valve in the end, stick that in a receptical and open. Remove filter with filter wrench and put visqueen behind it for the mess. Replace oil. run and add for filter. right side of tranny in lower middle is allen screw and on top middle right is fill spot drain replace with 75-140 roal purple replace crankcase with 20w 50w mobile 1 v-twin primary same to 1/2 %26quot; on clutch. Can anyone tell me how to change the engine oil and primary for a 2005 HD Softail?yep, everything there is right. However I do not like Royal Purple and you should investigate before you add it to your primary. I have disassembled a clutch pack of a sporty which used royal purple and purple residue was thickly caked on the transmission spline and in the clutch pack, I ended up replacing all of the plates.

I use mobil 1 gear oil. Of course lots of people have an opinion on which gear oil is best, and I don't think there is one right answer. Can anyone tell me how to change the engine oil and primary for a 2005 HD Softail? When you do change it, use the best. They have an application for everything.

http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/defaultCan anyone tell me how to change the engine oil and primary for a 2005 HD Softail?Yeah, the owner's manual is pretty vague about fluid changes. I spent the $60 for a service manual. That plus the oils and filter are still less than the dealer charges for a service.

I'm going to change engine oil for my friend's car. only oil change, no any maintenance else.

I don't know how much tips I should offer them?

ThanksThe Tips for oil change service?dont offer them anything. Most oil technitions are paid ok by the hour. And extra for sales. If you want to leave a tip i would ask how many guys are working and leave each one a $1. Normally depending on where you go most places have about 5 guys working at a time. Tell them to get a pop or somethingThe Tips for oil change service?I use drive up ramps to have easy access under my car. Put on the parking brake when you have it up there. Also remeber to clean the mating surfaces of teh oil filter , the engine block part with a rag looking for left over gasket and burnt oil and the filter needs a smal amount of oil placed on the rubber gasket to soften it up. Also , the oil flows freely if the fill cap is removed and slower with it on.The Tips for oil change service?Ramps, parking brake!! yes......

Drain the oil first into the drain pan, take the filter off and let that drain.... replace the filter (if you can, fill the filter up with oil, and DO NOT FORGET to oil the filters gasket... this is to make sure the gasket doesn't stick and make sure the old filter gasket came off with it)

DO NOT forget the drain plug..... I'd put this back in as soon as the oil is drained.... let the oil drain for maybe 20 minutes.

Fill it back up with the correct amount (owners manual) and let it sit for a couple minutes and check the oil level to make sure.

The oil filter... good name brand like purolator or wix, not fram...

Make sure its tight, about a turn or turn and a half after its seated.

Oil.... any good name brand 5w-30 will do.

How do I change the engine belt on a '97 Biuck Le sabre?

How do I open the engine mount in order to roll the belt in between the engine mount .How do I change the engine belt on a '97 Biuck Le sabre? You will have to support the engine underneath with a jack and remove the engine mouont bolts. Jack engine enough to create a gap to put belt through. How do I change the engine belt on a '97 Biuck Le sabre?DRIVE BELT

CAUTION: The drive belt controls all engine-mounted accessories. All driven accessories rigidly mount to the engine. A spring-loaded drive belt tensioner maintains the drive belt tension. A drive belt squeak, occurring when starting or stopping the engine, it has not effect on drive belt durability. The drive belt tensioner can control the drive belt tension over a broad range of drive belt length. However, there are limits to the drive belt tensioner's compensation ability. When using the drive belt tensioner outside of its operating range, poor tension control and/or damage to the drive belt tensioner may occur.

On average (in mileage), how often do I have to change the engine oil in my 2000 Toyota Corolla?

My Corolla is at 90k miles now, and I'm planning to change the oil, I just don't know when to. I have Chevron Delo 400 LE heavy duty motor oil SAE 15W-40, the previous owner said he changed the oil 3000 miles ago, is it time to change it again? Or do I change it in another 2000 miles? On average (in mileage), how often do I have to change the engine oil in my 2000 Toyota Corolla?I would change it now, only because that weight ,15w-40 is way to heavy for that vehicle. Normally that is used by diesels, buses, big rigs, etc. Not only is that 15w-40 the wrong oil, but it is making your engine work harder which is causing your gas consumption to go up!

You would need to check your manual, but it should be 5w-30 that you need to use, and you should always use the recommended weight for the vehicle, regardless of weather, temperature, driving habits, etc. I would recommend Mobil 1 oil. It is a synthetic so it costs more but I would say it is worth it in the long run. If you want a conventional oil, I'd go with Castrol GTX. After you have it changed now, you should be able to go 5,000 between oil changes but since it is a new car to you I'd keep an eye on the oil level to make sure it isn't burning oil faster than normal. It also doesn't hurt to carry an extra quart of oil in the trunk so if you find yourself reading low on the dipstick you can add more oil and not get caught running with a low level, which can eventually cause damage to the engine.

If I were you, I would have the engine checked for leaks. One reason why the previous owner could have been using such a heavy weight oil could be to help control the leakage, since a thicker oil won't leak out as fast. Just an idea...On average (in mileage), how often do I have to change the engine oil in my 2000 Toyota Corolla?3,500 milesOn average (in mileage), how often do I have to change the engine oil in my 2000 Toyota Corolla?every 3000 miles at the most 7500 miles. On average (in mileage), how often do I have to change the engine oil in my 2000 Toyota Corolla?on average, the engine oil should be changed about every 3000 miles. On average (in mileage), how often do I have to change the engine oil in my 2000 Toyota Corolla? You HAVE to change it every 3000 miles otherwise your engine can blow a rod!! Happened to me!! And when that happens its almost cheap to just buy a new car!!! Thats what I had to do!! :( Go get an oil change asap!!On average (in mileage), how often do I have to change the engine oil in my 2000 Toyota Corolla?well the oil companies would like you to change it every 3,000 miles; but really, you can change it between 7-10,000 miles; of course, you should check it approximately once a month or depending on how much you drive. If you commute and are constantly in stop and go traffic, then you probably need to change it a little more often. On average (in mileage), how often do I have to change the engine oil in my 2000 Toyota Corolla?%26gt;%26gt; heavy duty motor oil SAE 15W-40

    Holy COW. No.

    Stick to 5w30.

    ====

And go with 3K miles (sever - like mostly street driving, short trips, etc.) or 5K miles (mostly hwy long drives, etc.)

Good Luck...On average (in mileage), how often do I have to change the engine oil in my 2000 Toyota Corolla?Change it in another 2k,,,,,,,,,,,,, It won't hurt to go an extra few miles .....................! Or since oil is a lot cheaper then a new engine................ change it now if it makes you feel more at ease......................!

I would learn how to change it yourself....................! You can do it in about10 min,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Once you know how......... Not that hard........................! Good Luck..................!On average (in mileage), how often do I have to change the engine oil in my 2000 Toyota Corolla?I have a 2004 Toyota Matrix, the place where I change my oil advises every 3000 miles, the Toyota handbook advises every 5000. I'd go with what Toyota says- 5000. Also the state of California recently released a report saying that the need to change your oil every 3000 miles is a myth:

    http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cg

so I'd go with 5,000On average (in mileage), how often do I have to change the engine oil in my 2000 Toyota Corolla?Every 6000 miles or as per the owner's manual. Castrol do an oil specifically for engines with in excess of 75,000 miles on the clock (GTX High Mileage) .On average (in mileage), how often do I have to change the engine oil in my 2000 Toyota Corolla?well first of all i would get that diesel motor oil drained out of there. delo 15w-40 is for diesels andid probably replace it with 10w or 5w- 30 oil.On average (in mileage), how often do I have to change the engine oil in my 2000 Toyota Corolla? Most any name brand oil, or auto part store oil will do just fine. keeping the weight within the owners manual recommandations. Upon what climate you live in makes a differance in the weight, example extreme cold climates call for a light weight grade of oil, extreme hot climates call for a heavier grade of oil. A multi-grade such as your be using should be just fine. Unless your vehicle is a bit hard to start, then 10w-40 may help that.

Try not to exceed 3,000 miles, even if the owners manual says you can. Ageing oil can form slug in the engine. Some auto makers whom suggested oil changing well beyond 3,000 miles are sorry they did,...oppps!... example is the Cadillac northstar engine. On average (in mileage), how often do I have to change the engine oil in my 2000 Toyota Corolla?every 3000 miles, is recomended but you can go a little over but you should NOT be putting 15w-40 oil into a corolla. it should be 5w30 or 5w20. i would recomend mobil clean 5000 for a conventional or mobil 1 for a synthetic, they both clean your engine and after 2 oil changes it should look almost new coming out .

I have got a Vw Polo car and I would like to change the motoroil in the engine. But I`m not sure how can I do it myself or alone. If somebody know it or have got a service manual book please help for me. Send me an email or give me an internet page`s link where I can find more information about it. ThankI have got a Vw Polo and I need to change the engine`s motoroil. How can I do it myself?Make sure your vehicle is parked on a flat surface and not at an angle.

Run the engine for several minutes to heat the oil before draining.

Shut off the engine before proceeding.

If using ramps, drive the vehicle onto the ramps. If using a jack and jack stands, raise the vehicle with the jack and lower it onto the stands.

When using a jack, take care to lift the vehicle from a proper lifting point.

Always wear appropriate eye protection when working under the vehicle.

The engine oil pan should be easy to identify. It's large and sags down a bit from the engine area. There will be a drain plug on the bottom edge.

Once you find the engine oil pan and locate the drain plug, slip the drain pan below.

Unscrew the drain plug with the proper size box end wrench. (counter clockwise to loosen). The oil rushing from the drain most likely will drive the drain plug into the drain pan. Remember, the oil will be hot, so it is best to just let the bolt fall into the drain pan rather than try to yank it away once it comes free. This will save your hands from getting burned

It will take several minutes for the oil to drain

Retrieve the drain plug from the drain pan and inspect the drain plug washer. A metal drain plug washer that is no longer flat should be replaced. A rubber drain plug washer that is damaged or deteriorated should be replaced.

Reinstall the drain plug into the oil pan. Do not over tighten.

    Find the oil filter.

Adjust the drain pan to catch the oil that will fall from the filter once it's removed from the engine.

Attach the filter wrench tightly around the filter and rotate counter clockwise to remove. You may find yourself in a battle trying to remove the filter and even crush the body. Simply make sure the wrench grip is solid and try for that first release.

Once you achieve that, the filter should twist right off. The filter gasket should come off with the filter. If it didn't, remove the filter gasket from the filter mounting area.

Wipe the filter mounting area with a clean rag.

Set the old filter off to the side and swab the housing area with the rag until it's free of old oil.

You're now ready to install the new filter. Coat the filter gasket with clean oil. Screw it in, taking caution not to go to the extreme when tightening. The tightening instructions will be printed on most filters. If not,a good rule to use is to rotate until gasket contacts mounting surface, then tighten an additional 陆 turn.

At this point, the hard part is over.

Now locate the lubricant depository, usually marked by a cap noted appropriately: oil.

Open it and pour in the required amount of oil.

Replace the cap upon completion and wipe up any excess oil.

Start the vehicle and do a quick check on all of the components to seek out any leaks.

With the engine running, verify there is no engine oil leaking from the filter or from the drain plug. Shut off the engine and check engine oil level.

Now you're ready to clean up. Used motor oil is classified as hazardous waste and must be disposed of in accordance with all applicable laws. Using a funnel, carefully pour the used oil from the drain pan into a leak proof container. Take the old oil to your local garage or auto parts store for disposal.

How much work is it to change an engine?

Me and my dad are going to buy a used Camaro soon and he thinks it 'may' have a Chevy 305 engine and he said that if it did he could take his old truck engine, A Chevy 350 engine and install it into the Camaro. I was wondering how much work and how long will it take to complete the process? How much work is it to change an engine?it takes time and is a lot of work. Everything needs to be disconnected EVERYTHING! and then everything made for a 305 has to match up to a 350 truck engine (different from a car) and be reinstalled. If the tranny doesn't match that needs to be changed and the drive train should be changed to hold up top the additional torque. How much work is it to change an engine? Its not that bad I just did it to my camaro the 305 and the 350 are almost the same engine the only difference is the bore, so that means all the parts should go right on to the new engine some of the sensors may not fit depending on the year of the camaro, but thats not a problem they can be moved. The swap can be done at home in about a week end if you take the time to remove most of the stuff from the engine first. good luck and welcome to camaros you will love them forever.

How much does it cost to change an engine mount and a transmission mount on 1995 buick century, V6, 3.1L?

When should the engine mount and transmission be replaced on a 1995 Buick Century LTD, with a V6 engine (3.1L). Also, is one of the engine mount located on top of the engine and connected to the body of the car on top of the radiator? Also, much does it cost? How much does it cost to change an engine mount and a transmission mount on 1995 buick century, V6, 3.1L?I can't give you an accurate number of how much they cost, and there is no recommended time of replacement. They are replaced on demand/failure. The ones secured over the rad (I call them %26quot;dog bones%26quot;) fail quite frequently and are easy to change. The transmission mount is a little harder to do and is required very seldom. The worst is the one under the front of the engine near the main pulley. All these cost not much, just labor. How much does it cost to change an engine mount and a transmission mount on 1995 buick century, V6, 3.1L?Lab is correct about the dog bones that are up top.The mount near the crank pulley usually needs Replacement due to oil leaking on it and the rubber breaks down. That one the cradle has to come down if not out and should be aligned. You only replace them if needed. If you are having a harsh shift check tranny fluid level. If you can get it to thump when power braking it is usually a mount.Do not power brake for longer than a couple of seconds and don't do it alot.Peace

Hard to change gears my car is Honda prelude stick shift.?

hi, i have recently changed my clutch, and it did not fix the problem.

what might be the reason? before my Honda prelude 1998 use to shift flawlessly! but now, i have to fight with it most of the times to change, it doesn't go in easily!

do you think if i change engine oil, it will fix it? how about transmission oil? please provide some detail to your answer and kinda give me step by step instruction PLZ.

any help would be appreciated!Hard to change gears my car is Honda prelude stick shift.?I'm assuming you checked the transmission oil? I usually change the fluid when I do the clutch.

No, engine oil has nothing to do with shifting.Hard to change gears my car is Honda prelude stick shift.?Are you having trouble with the Clutch disengaging it, or are you having problems shifting the transmission from one gear to another? If the clutch is disengaging properly and you are having trouble with the gear changes, it could be your Shift Linkage or Shifter itself. These do not last forever. Another problem could be the Syncronizers in the transmission is it is not going into gears with out rakeing, or grinding.Hard to change gears my car is Honda prelude stick shift.?You need to make adjustments on you clutch cylinder...

They will have a rod going thru the firewall from the clutch pedal....Look at this area, you will see a threaded rod on the back of the clutch pedal, adjust this rod toward the front of the car.

This will push the clutch further away from the pressure plate, making it easier to shift.Hard to change gears my car is Honda prelude stick shift.?your honda may have a hydraulic clutch. it works similar to how the brakes work. you push the pedal, the pedal pushes oil into a cylinder at the clutch which engages the clutch. check the oil level in the clutch oil reservoir. your mechanic should have checked it first.Hard to change gears my car is Honda prelude stick shift.?If the clutch is hydraulic you might need to replace the master cylinder.

  • How often should I change my engine Oil for Honda Accord?

I've been told 3000, but my owners manual says 7500. I have a 98 honda accord v6 with 128k. I currently drive 35 miles (one way) to school, 4 times a week. I don't drive aggressively or anything like and it's usually raining where i live. I'm using castrol synthetic blend at every oil change. Would it okay to wait until 5k miles to get it changed? How often should I change my engine Oil for Honda Accord? Why not split the difference and change the oil and filter every 5,000 miles like Toyota still suggests today? Your manufacturer suggests using 5W-30 year round.

If you live where the temperature could dip below 0 Farenheit full synthetic 5W-30 Mobil1 pours @ -47 below 0. Castrol Edge is horribly overpriced. Valvoline, Quaker state and Pennzoil full synthetic is $20.00 for a five quart container at Walmart. Mobil1 is $22.00 and Mobil1 Extended Performance is $24.00 at Wally World. How often should I change my engine Oil for Honda Accord? There are likely three different service schedules in the owner's manual. Light, normal, and severe are what they're usually labeled. No one qualifies for %26quot;light.%26quot; Not many qualify for %26quot;normal%26quot; either. 90% of vehicles are driven under what the manufacturer calls %26quot;severe.%26quot; It basically just means you drive in a city. That being said, there's no way the manual says 7,500 under that schedule, most manufacturers say 3,000 miles and while it might be overkill, I think it's good practice. Think about it, you're only talking about two more oil changes a year, and if you stop wasting your money on synthetic oil that only equates to $40/year in extra oil changes. Why risk a $4,000 engine to save $40 a year? How often should I change my engine Oil for Honda Accord?if you use a good oil you can wait longer than with a cheap oil. many would have you think that all of many different oils all oxidize and such at the exact same rate and will be the same after whatever time has passed. nothing could be farther from the truth. with a good synthetic blend you should be ok for 5K or a little more miles. with the cheapest stuff made you will be needing a change far sooner like 2500-3K even if you engine is clean running with good oil control. if you ever check the oil and it seems very dark or smells bad change it period. i change mine not by time or miles but by smell, feel and appearance. when oil stinks of being burned its no good for an engine. when its filthy its no good for a gas engine. as your engine gets older though it will be harder on its oil and more frequent changes will be needed. with 120+K miles every 4-5K might be better than waiting til 6 or more. we have a subaru with about that mileage and its oil isn't even bad looking after 5K when we change it.How often should I change my engine Oil for Honda Accord?Dude, it's cheap insurance to change every 3000. I do in my '97 Accord with 110k. You are still racking up the miles so keep the engines blood fresh and clean. Change the air filter every 3 or 4 oil changes too. The elements are a little pricey because of the plastic housing but I like to breathe fresh, unrestricted air and your car does too. I use good quality oil and filters. Could I change the engine of my 1989 Mazda 929 to one from a newish Toyota Camry, for example?

Really love my old 929 but just wondering how practical it would be to do this. How do I change the engine torque strut mount on a 94 Buick?

I was told by the car repair shop that I need to replace the torque strut mount on my 94 Buick Regal 3.8. I tried to do it myself but can not fit the new one in because the rubber on the old one was pushed forward and the engine is sitting about 1/4 to 1/2 inch too far forward. The guy at the auto parts store told me to put the transaxle in neutral and pry the engine back to fit the new strut mount on. If I follow his advice, do I run the risk of messing up anything else that is now relying on the engine being in its current position? Also any advice on tilting the engine back would help. How do I change the engine torque strut mount on a 94 Buick?I did this years ago on a Buick Century, 1983 model.

As I recall, I used the weight of the car to position the engine. I was either nose uphill or nose downhill and when in %26quot;Park%26quot; the enigne rocks forward or backwards.

If you are a member of the Flat Earth Society and don't have a driveway that slopes up or down then you could use a wooden dowel (like1%26amp;1/2%26quot; diameter) or a 1/2 inch breaker bar wedged under an engine bracket (make sures it's a steel bracket and not aluminum) and then pull or push the engine until the holes are lined up.

It's a bit delicate but not quite neurosurgery.

Good Luck! How do I change the engine torque strut mount on a 94 Buick?I agree...just try rocking the car back or forth in gear to align the holes or use a pry bar on a steel part of the brackets or engine to get the holes to line up. Loosening the engine bracket bolts may also help too.

How much it cost to change a engine for my galant?

i want to change my galant engine, 4g63 --%26gt; 6g72.

how much does it cost?i mean including labor cost, buy a engine and others thing for that have to change~How much it cost to change a engine for my galant?Quite. This type of engine swap is not usually done, therefore, there are not many adapters for wires and harnesses that are made, if at all. The price that he gave may have been a little steep, though it all depends on where you live and the economy at the time.

If you are looking to just swap the engine out because of the %26quot;lack%26quot; of power to the more industrious 3000GT/Stealth engine, you might want to rethink this attempt. The 4G63 is one of the best motors ever produced by DSM (Mitsubishi and Chrysler joint effort).

Though this can be done, it does come at a high price. Assuming there is enough room to mount it for front wheel drive, you will have to make new motor mounts, clear enough room for the transmission, find the harness adapters, purchase a 6G72 ECU out of a 3000GT/Stealth, custom axles, so on and so forth.

It would be more economical to keep the 4G63 and, depending on what you're doing with it, use that engine as your engine of choice. How much it cost to change a engine for my galant? That is not really a possible swap. You'd save thousands just selling your car and buying a v6. You'd have to change :

ETACS, Immobilizer, PCM, TCM, entire wiring harness, not to mention the physical mods, namely front suspension. By the time you were said and done I'd guestimate in the $8-10K range... not worth it at all.

How much would it cost to change the engine on an Audi A6 Quattro 1995?

I am considering buying this car for close-to-nothing, but it has 250 000km on it, so I'm worried that I would have to change the engine. I would like to know how much it would cost to see if it's worth buying this car?

(You don't need the price of the car to determine if it's worth it. I will do that)

Thanks! How much would it cost to change the engine on an Audi A6 Quattro 1995?I mean there are a lot of factors that will determine the cost of a new engine. Firstly, to avoid complications, you should look into buying the same model engine from a different A6. Some high mileage engines will cost around $1,000 (excluding parts and labor) and some will be upwards of $4,000. I would also recommend looking on some of the Audi forums in the classifieds sections, there are a lot of motors for sale usually

thanksWhat is engine rebuild and how much professional charge around to do it?A 1992 Corolla should last you more than 78K. I had a 1984 Toyota Camry that lasted me almost 300K and never rebuilt the engine.

Wife's 2003 Toyota Corolla has 88K on it and the engine still runs really good. Though there's a little engine vibration now, I'm expecting it to last at least until 200K.

If your engine is broken, it's typically easier to fix the problem than rebuild it. But call up Autozone to determine how much a rebuilt one from them costs. You can then find a mechanic who will drop that engine in and remove your old one for an additional $500 over what the engine costs from Autozone. What is engine rebuild and how much professional charge around to do it?i would look into a used japanese engine for that, it is usually way cheaperWhat is engine rebuild and how much professional charge around to do it?If the car has been taken care of, it should last well past 120k miles...good oil and a good tuning will help it last. There are a lot of myths and confusion about this topic. Be careful who you listen to.

The date is important because after so long, the oil becomes contaminated from moisture buildup in the engine. The miles vary because city stop-and-go driving is harder on the engine and wears out oil quicker than highway driving.

Do not pay attention to those that say every 3,000 miles. That interval is based on outdated information and a lack of understanding of modern oils. How often do I need to change engine oil for my car?As you can see by the previous answers, the answers you get will vary. 3,000 miles or 3 months is your traditional answer. As of late, I have heard 5,000 miles is ok for regular oil. Now, there are many synthetic oils on the market and are used in many newer cars from the factory that claim 6,000 miles or 6 months is the new service interval.

From my experience, I change it every 3,000 miles (with regular oil) which I usually put on in about 4-6 months. The fact is, oil changes are relatively cheap. I change it often as cheap insurance to avoid expensive engine repairs. Change it often, keep the oil at the recommended level, and drive happy. How often do I need to change engine oil for my car?Toyota's scheduled maintenance guide for the 2007 Toyota Corolla recommends changing the oil and oil filter every 5000 miles or 6 months. To prevent oil sludge problems Toyota reduced their recommended oil change interval from 7500 miles to 5000 miles in 2004 and warranty is now based on 5000 mile oil change intervals. But understand that their recommended 5000 mile oil change interval is intended to prolong the MINIMUM engine life to beyond the warranty period but it is in no way intended to prolong the engine life to the maximum mileage possible. If it was their intent to extend engine life closer to the maximum mileage possible I am sure the more frequent 3000 miles or 3 month oil change intervals would be recommended. How often do I need to change engine oil for my car?Because you drive locally more than on the freeway, you have a lot of stop and go driving. This is harder on the engine and you want to change your oil more often. Keep an eye on your oil level between changes and if you see that the level on the dipstick is dropping, get an oil and filter change. Also, smell the dipstick. If you smell gasoline in the oil, change the oil and filter immediately. How often do I need to change engine oil for my car?Every 3 months or 3000 miles whichever comes first. How often do I need to change engine oil for my car?daily use 3 months or 3000 miles

You need to change the oil filter with this too. Check the oil level every month though. How often do I need to change engine oil for my car?I go by the 5,000 mile rule. this just happens to come to about every 3 months. However, before you take it in, check the oil using your dipstick every couple of weeks, if the oil on it is still almost clear...then you can probably hold off on the change a little bit longer. If you find that it is dark...get it changed.

    - - -How to change engine oil in opel astra (2000) engine type1.4L,ecodriv?Well I dont have any pictures, but it is very easy. When you look under the engine there will be a drain bolt on the oil pan, you cannot miss it, open it with a container under it and let the oil drain out. Then you should be able to find the oil filter, remove it and replace with new, then fill the engine with oil, there will be a OIL cap on top of the engine, this is where you put the oil in, you cannot miss it.
