Firefox default search engine changed to Yahoo all of a sudden?

Anyone know how to change it back to google? I found fixes for this but it doesn't change back. I figured it will probably take more looking in to but what the heck. type in the URL bar 'about:config' and find (just type 'ulten' in the search bar)



browser.search.defaultenginename



should say 'default' then 'string' then 'Google'

For your information, it can't change all of a sudden - you agreed to allow something to change it. You installed something that's not good, or you just don't read when you click stuff. Then you must have some malware in your system, because this is exactly where Firefox gets the information that tells it which default search to use!

Firefox default search engine changed to Yahoo all of a sudden?If you use AVG anti-virus it automatically changes as AVG and Yahoo are affiliated, you may have to change the AVG settings as well.
