How much work is it to change an engine?

Me and my dad are going to buy a used Camaro soon and he thinks it 'may' have a Chevy 305 engine and he said that if it did he could take his old truck engine, A Chevy 350 engine and install it into the Camaro. I was wondering how much work and how long will it take to complete the process? How much work is it to change an engine?it takes time and is a lot of work. Everything needs to be disconnected EVERYTHING! and then everything made for a 305 has to match up to a 350 truck engine (different from a car) and be reinstalled. If the tranny doesn't match that needs to be changed and the drive train should be changed to hold up top the additional torque. How much work is it to change an engine? Its not that bad I just did it to my camaro the 305 and the 350 are almost the same engine the only difference is the bore, so that means all the parts should go right on to the new engine some of the sensors may not fit depending on the year of the camaro, but thats not a problem they can be moved. The swap can be done at home in about a week end if you take the time to remove most of the stuff from the engine first. good luck and welcome to camaros you will love them forever.
