Run the engine till it is warm as this thins the oil a bit and makes it run out easier. Place the drain tray under the vehicle and remove the sump plug using the correct spanner/key.
Let the oil drain fully and then replace the sump plug with a new washer (having removed the old one first).
Remove the oil filter by unscrewing it. If necessary use a filter/strap wrench to help with this.
Smear the rubber seal on the new filter with clean oil and screw in to place. Top up with fresh oil and run the engine for a minute or so then recheck the level and top up to the maximum mark on the dipstick.
