It's absolutely MUCH cheaper to simply trade-in that vehicle and get a V8. Even on a brand-new V6 it would be more expensive to swap out to a V8 than to have simply started with the V8.
There's more than just the engine involved. Often V8 vehicles have more robust transmissions, suspensions, and larger brakes that people fail to factor in the cost... then add in a few grand in labor.Can you change a v6 dodge ram to a v8 if so how much would it come close to?It would be pointless to do this. A 16 yr old truck with a V6 is not worth much, so no point in spending a lot of money (thousands of $$$) to do this swap.
