Does overfilled engine oil cause strange noise and vibration and overheat in a car? What need to do?

A month ago I changed engine oil on EasyLube and oil was overfilled about 4 inches above mark on a oil dipstick. I discovered it next day after driving about 30 mi. EasyLube fixed it bringing oil to normal level. But since then a car has strange noise and vibration, stronger when not driving, on stops, also over heated. It is Honda Accord, 99, 4 cl. Before were any problems. Now feel like my car dyeing. How can fix this problems? What need to do? Thanks.Does overfilled engine oil cause strange noise and vibration and overheat in a car? What need to do?If you didn't bring the RPMs above 3500 on that 30 mile drive, then it probably didn't to damage.

But judging from the symptoms indicated, some oil got inside the cylinders through the oil seals, fail to burn and ruined your catalytic converter. I would get estimates and file a claim against them. They have coverage for these incidents and if they don't cooperate, take them to small claims.Does overfilled engine oil cause strange noise and vibration and overheat in a car? What need to do?This definitely can cause problems. It can also cause permanent damage.

In all automotive engines the crank shaft is supposed to be above the oil level. It receives its lubrication from the oil pump.

If the oil level is too high the crank shaft will touch the oil in the oil pan. The crank shaft rotating in the oil inside the oil pan places a tremendous drag. Worst case it can bend the connecting rods. When this happens catastrophic failure is eminent.

Also, as the crankshaft rotates it will churn the oil, causing aeration and eventually sustained foam may form. This can lead to overheated motor oil, oxidation and a loss of oil pressure. Spongy aerated oil is hard to pump. It starves the engine and critical lubricated surfaces.

The vibrations you describe should have been noticeable the moment you drove away from the lube shop. You should have returned immediately.

Now that you waited 30 days it is your word against theirs that this damage was caused by them. A lot could have happened to a 10 year old car in 30 days of driving.

Try returning to the lube shop to complain. Give the manager a chance to make it right first. However you may need to hire a lawyer. And a lawyer will take a good chunk of money that you would get if you win in court.Does overfilled engine oil cause strange noise and vibration and overheat in a car? What need to do?1 find out whats wrong,,leakdown rest,,,compression test.check coolant for oil..oil 4 coolant,,overheating? on a little aluminum engine once is enough to ruin it if not causght quickly

2 may be thermostate

3,when tuned up [if ever ],,,check engine lite on? it actually does mean something

4 find mechanic

5 doesnt sound goodDoes overfilled engine oil cause strange noise and vibration and overheat in a car? What need to do?Mad Jack is the only one with the correct answer especially if the oil level was 4 inches above the fill mark. That means the oil was probably filling up the complete engine block and caused the damage that Mad Jack said. Sorry, you will have to fight with the lube place.Does overfilled engine oil cause strange noise and vibration and overheat in a car? What need to do?the vibration could just be your exhaust if its making more noise when the cars stationary , check it first , also did it ever overheat before or has it happened again since , is it using alot of water? take the cap off the engine oil filter if the oil there is scummy looking you could have a head gasket problemDoes overfilled engine oil cause strange noise and vibration and overheat in a car? What need to do?Too much oil can ruin a catalytic converter but that's about it.

The oil burns off in a few minutes.

I suppose it's possible that the oil blew into the air filter but I can't think of anything else. That you can easily check.
