Is there some type of conversion kit to change a gasoline engine into a natural gas engine? where to find it?

I have a fuel injected engine in my Toyoto and I want to burn natural gas it instead of gasoline. I know that there used to be a type of conversion kit for carburetors, but since fuel injection, I don't know. and how much work would be required to make such a conversion. Is there some type of conversion kit to change a gasoline engine into a natural gas engine? where to find it?There are conversions but they are really drastic. You have to have a different fuel storage tank and many other components that sometimes don't work well with original equipment. They can be a bit costly but a natural gas powered engine runs cleanly and efficiently for a long time and does far less harm to the ozone layer then a conventional power source. Good luck. Is there some type of conversion kit to change a gasoline engine into a natural gas engine? where to find it?Natural gas conversions are usually done by a gas specialist. However, propane conversions are fairly easy to come by. Just get one for a forklift with a similar sized engine. I have one in my barn that I bought off ebay that I intend to put on my tractor someday.

The propane conversion kit will come with a vaporizer and a fuel atomizer. The atomizer goes anywhere in the intake air stream.

It might be possible to convert a propane atomizer to work with natural gas if the pressure from the natural gas source was regulated correctly.

You will of course need a supply of compressed natural gas as well.

I built a multi fuel vehicle in chemical engineering class. The biggest drawback to using natural gas was having to compress it from the gas lines for storage in the truck. Propane comes already nicely packaged in liquid form for quick refueling away from home.

Good luck with your project.
